Language Immersion

The Richland One Language Immersion Program at Hand Middle School provides students with a unique opportunity to continue their bilingual and biliterate journey in Spanish or Chinese while developing the skills needed to succeed in a global society.

Through rigorous language instruction, cultural experiences, leadership opportunities, and pathways designed to build advanced language proficiency, students work toward earning high school language credits and ultimately the South Carolina Seal of Biliteracy. Families of rising 6th graders are invited to learn more about the program, its academic pathways, and the application process through our upcoming information sessions.
