Hand's Highlight Challenge

Do you remember the big old dictionary that sat on a tall stand in the corner of the library? Advance technology has decreased the use of learning old school skills. I thought it would be awesome to dig ours out, dust it off and put to good use. “Hand’s Highlights” is an opportunity for students to look up a weekly word and fill out a short form and submit for weekly prizes. The goal is not only to help students learn to read and spell words but also to understand the meaning of words, how to use words correctly, and to improve overall literacy skills.
